Critical Soft Skills for Employment: Managing Stress at Work


This workshop is targeted at young adults on the autism spectrum who are starting work and need to know about basic soft skills needed for employment.

Learning how to manage stress with effective tools that are appropriate in a work environment is critical to getting and keeping a job.

• Good stress and bad stress

• Signs of stress

• Impact of stress on work

• On-The-Go Stress Management tools

• Preventive Stress Management tools

• When stress needs professional help

• Develop individualised On-The-Go and Preventive Stress Management tools


Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the training workshop, participants should be able to:

• Learn the basic soft skills needed for employment

• Understand the importance of these basic soft skills in getting and keeping a job

• Develop individualized strategies to support oneself in managing stress

• Practice using the individualized strategies taught in one’s daily life
