SG Enable unveils Vista at Enabling Village, strengthening post-18 pathways for persons with disabilities and support for caregivers

05 Dec 2025

SINGAPORE, 5 DECEMBER 2025 – SG Enable, Singapore’s focal agency for disability and inclusion, celebrated the Enabling Village’s 10th anniversary with the opening of Vista today (5 Dec 2025), a new four-storey extension, marking the Village’s next chapter in inclusion. The event was attended by Guest of Honour Mr Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance.

Recognised as a beacon of inclusion and a testbed for social innovation, Enabling Village by SG Enable opened in 2015 as Singapore’s first inclusive community space, demonstrating how persons with disabilities can live, learn, work and play alongside their caregivers and the wider society. With the opening of Vista, Enabling Village expands its role as an inclusive hub with the addition of new spaces and tenant partners. This expansion is part of SG Enable’s deliberate efforts to strengthen post-18 pathways for persons with disabilities and deepen support for their caregivers. It will create more avenues for lifelong learning, support independent living and community participation, and develop the ecosystem to help families plan early and confidently for the future.

Vista will house key SG Enable initiatives such as the Enabling Academy, the Independent Living Studio and the Future Care Planning Resource Centre. It will also be home to strategic partners such as Voices of Singapore and CaringSG, to provide meaningful engagement opportunities for persons with disabilities and support caregivers’ well-being.

More about the new spaces and tenant partners in Enabling Village:

Independent Living Skills and Lifelong Learning:

  • Independent Living Studio (ILS) by SG Enable and TOUCH Community Services, supported by SPD as technology partner: The Independent Living Studio (ILS) at Vista block provides training for persons with disabilities to develop essential daily living skills in a simulated HDB flat. Offering a realistic environment that brings learning beyond the classroom, ILS helps to build and reinforce competence, confidence, and decision-making skills for independent living. Featuring smart home devices and assistive technologies, ILS provides a safe and supported environment for hands-on practice, with the option to stay overnight as part of the training.
  • Enabling Academy by SG Enable: As the disability learning hub, the Enabling Academy works with partners from the education, business, and disability sectors to provide quality learning opportunities for persons with disabilities, and to enable their network of support through training and lifelong learning. The new facility at Vista block allows for flexible room configurations and is equipped with assistive technology and adaptive tools to support a wider range of learning needs.

The expansion strengthens the Village’s vision of Building Dreams and Enabling Lives and supports SG Enable’s refresh of the tenant mix to create more diverse employment pathways for persons with disabilities. These pathways span from traditional sectors such as retail, food and beverage, and contact centres while opening new areas such as music, arts and design, as well as instruments repair.

  • i’mable Collective Space by SG Enable: An integrated experiential showcase at Vista block combines retail, gallery, studio, and café experiences. The Space develops innovative training and employment models in the design and arts sectors and provides a dedicated platform to highlight the talents of persons with disabilities.
  • MS Academy: Singapore’s first purpose-built inclusive music school in the Enabling Village, founded by Music Solutions, a social enterprise with over 26 years of experience in music education. It is currently piloting the Vocational Training Programme in Music and Media (VTPMM) under Project InteGr8, which equips persons with disabilities with foundational and industry-relevant skills in the creative arts. The programme offers a supportive, hands-on learning environment where participants can explore their interests and talents in music and media. Beyond creative skills, participants also learn technical skills such as instruments repair. MS Academy is located at the Canopy block.

Strengthening support systems for caregivers: enhancing well-being and community participation

  • Future Care Planning Resource Centre (FCPRC) by SG Enable: The Centre at Vista block serves as a hub to strengthen sector capabilities and work with social service agencies and community partners to enable persons with disabilities and their caregivers to plan early and confidently for their long-term care.
  • CaringSG: As Singapore's largest caregiver-led agency for caregivers of persons with disabilities, the organisation's new dedicated space in Vista block offers enhanced programme in areas such as skills training, respite and emotional support.
  • Voices of Singapore: The nation’s largest singing organisation with over 30 groups and nearly 2,000 members, champions inclusivity through its community impact programmes. By welcoming singers of all abilities and ages, its choirs provide persons with disabilities an uplifting space to express themselves and find joy in music, while offering caregivers respite and an interest-based community for their well-being. It is located at Vista block.

Other New Tenant Partners

New food & beverage and lifestyle options across the Village, such as AMGD Superfood Restaurant, Bailey & Patch Café, EatTalk, Little Splashes Aquatics and Mad Roaster’s Slow Bar further enrich the community experience and reinforce SG Enable’s on-going efforts to promote integration and inclusion in Singapore. These additions demonstrate disability-friendly practices such as welcoming guide dogs in eating establishments and accessible design features. It also supports tenant partners in organising inclusive activities and programmes that bring everyone together. The full list of tenant partners can be found in the annex.

Chief Executive Officer, SG Enable, Ms Lee May Gee said: “Vista marks a new chapter not just for the Enabling Village, but for Singapore’s disability inclusion journey. We are reaffirming our commitment to walk alongside persons with disabilities and their caregivers through their life stages. As we celebrate the Enabling Village’s 10th anniversary, we are inspired by the strength, resilience and aspirations of the many families that we serve. This milestone reflects the collective efforts of our partners and our shared belief that inclusion becomes real when we build it together. As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to expand opportunities, strengthen support and shape a future where persons with disabilities and their caregivers can live with dignity, confidence and possibility.”
