Grant Management

Assistant Manager

Overall Job Responsibility

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join the Enabling Lives Initiative (ELI) Grant team. The ELI Grant is a forward-looking and innovative grant that operates as a seed funder and partner to organisations building impactful solutions for persons with disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who is driven to support organisations in transforming ideas into well-executed projects to deliver real-world impact.

As an Assistant Manager, you will support the full grant lifecycle - from application and evaluation to implementation, reporting, disbursement and impact measurement. You will work with funded organisations to resolve challenges, keep projects on track and serve as both a rigorous grant administrator and a trusted partner.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.Grant Management and Administration

  • Assess and recommend grant applications, supporting applicants to refine their proposals, ensure strong alignment between identified needs and proposed solutions, and clearly articulate the innovation value, which is a key criterion of the grant.
  • Prepare approval papers to seek grant awards and funding agreements for awarded grants with detailed project deliverables and grant amounts to enable project commencement.
  • Review periodic progress reports and facilitate timely disbursements to funded organisations in line with approved milestones and funding conditions.
  • Monitor outcomes data from funded organisations and identify where mid-course intervention or additional support may be required.
  • Support funded organisations in communicating project impact and facilitate opportunities to catalyse follow-on funding or partnerships beyond the ELI grant period.

2.Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage innovators and organisations with promising ideas, guiding them to consider and apply for the ELI Grant.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and peer learning among funded organisations, enabling the exchange of experiences and project insights while building networks and collaboration opportunities across the disability sector.

3.Other Duties

  • Any other ad-hoc duties not covered under main duties and responsibilites, as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • Relevant degree, with at least 3 years of working experience in a related role.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess applications and provide considered inputs for funding recommendations, in line with grant criteria and objectives.
  • Good interpersonal skills to engage and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound numerical and administrative skills to manage grant reporting and disbursement processes with accuracy and due governance.
  • Effective written and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines, adapt to changing circumstances, and demonstrate resourcefulness in problem solving.
  • Prior experience in the disability sector or familiarity with disability issues would be an advantage.
